The check-in experience was seamless, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They greeted us warmly and shared the fascinating history of the property, including the fact that the wine served here is made from grapes grown right on the estate! Exploring Our Room

After checking in, we headed to our room and were blown away by the views. Looking out over the banana fields with Cabo Girão in the distance was breathtaking. The room itself was the perfect mix of comfort and style—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring Madeira. The bathroom featured premium amenities, and we loved the small balcony where we could unwind with a glass of wine and take in the serene surroundings.

One of the standout features was the thoughtful details provided for guests, like coffee, water, and a poolside snack menu. The attention to detail really makes Quinta da Saraiva feel like more than just a place to stay—it’s a home away from home.

That evening, we enjoyed dinner at Anônimo Restaurant, just a short drive away. This Italian restaurant was fantastic, offering delicious food and a cozy atmosphere—definitely worth checking out if you’re staying nearby!

Back at the hotel, we explored more of the grounds and were continuously amazed by the thoughtfulness that went into creating such a special experience. From the inviting common areas to the honor system for grabbing a glass of wine from the cellar, the whole place radiates warmth and hospitality. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or taking in the historic architecture, every corner of the property is designed to make you feel comfortable.

Agritourism and Immersive Experiences

One of the unique aspects of staying at Quinta da Saraiva is the connection to agritourism. The hotel is part of a working banana plantation, and guests are encouraged to explore the grounds and even pick fresh bananas and vegetables. We had the opportunity to pick our own tomato for lunch and learned how to water the banana fields using traditional levada irrigation methods. It was such an authentic experience that gave us a deeper connection to the land and local culture.

A highlight of our stay was enjoying the happy hour among the banana plantations. We also had the chance to chat with Diogo, the guest experience manager, who made sure we felt like family during our stay. His dedication to making guests feel at home really added a personal touch to our experience.
